Welcome to the first-ever blog post from Night Nutrition, where we’re dedicated to transforming your evenings into a powerful time for health and well-being. We’re thrilled to have you here as part of our growing community, and today, we want to share our vision and the unique philosophy that drives everything we do.

The Night Nutrition Story

One night I could not fall asleep for the life of me, therefore I downloaded a book called “Why we Sleep” by Matthew walker. After listening for awhile in bed, I slipped off into sleep.

Then a few nights later I woke up at 3:30 am and decided to go to my dads room cause I heard something. He was awake playing digital poker on his phone, said he was going to head over to the gym soon for an early one. Asked if I’d like to join him, I passed and went by to sleep.

Later, after being awake for sometime my dad hadn’t came home from the gym yet. Which was odd but suddenly I got a phone call from my mom, she said that dad was in the hospital. He had an accidnt at the gym this morning so our neighbor Chris was coming to pick us up and take us to the hospital where she was with him.

I was taking at back but never the less I got my sister and brother ready quick, then jumped in Chris’s truck. We made it to the hospital fairly quickly (15 mins) walked in with urgency. Chris let us go when we found a docter that took us to a room with my mom.

The doctor told us to sit down, so we did. He said “We tried everything but unfortantly your dad didn’t make it. He’s in the other room if you’d like to see him, sure enough there he was. Looking pale, felt cold and lifeless.

We didn’t know what happen or how it happened, if you saw my dad he looked great for 67. His diet was in check, he was vegan and made sure he got his protein in with tofu and plant based protein shakes/powder, was training like a 20 year old in the gym consistently.

How could this happen??? he loved us and didn’t want to die.

So we went to our gym where it happened to investigate and they just said that he collapsed in the parking lot when leaving.

We didn’t have enough money to spend on an autopsy, so we just said it was it was until weeks later when I was listing to the book about sleep. I found out that if your over the age of 40 and get less than 6 hours of sleep your chances of having a heart attack go up 200%.

After finding that out in the book I looked back at the night of my dad passing, I remeber now he was up later at night in the kitchen doing the dishes and cleaning up. He must have went to bed around midnight and woke up around 3am.

That’s only about 3 hours of sleep, and at that moment I knew that my dad had passed away cause he didn’t prioritize his sleep.

The Night Nutrition Mission

Our mission at Night Nutrition isn’t only to provide quality products but to also to make sure your prioritizing your sleep and following healthy sleep habits.

Not waking up super early to get to exercise if you haven’t got at least 7-9 hours of sleep. If you go to bed ear

Cause it’s not all about the gym and nutrition, is it important? yes. But without quality sleep your daytime energy for life will suffer and worst you’ll end up having serious health consequences like my dad.

I don’t want anyone to go out like my dad did, so the soul mission of our company is to provide healthy products that have scientific proof to help your muscles recover so you can attack the next day stronger and more well rested.

Our First Product

But just a quick disclaimer about our product, the following statements have not been evaluated by the FDA. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.

When developing our first product I wanted it to be something special to dad’s, so who better to learn from than my own. My dad loved protein powder and he was vegan so he only consumed vegan/plant based protein shakes.

Therefore, our main focus was making a natural plant based protein powder cause that’s what my dad would’ve bought, he loved protein powder and I know he’d be proud of what were doing here!

Our Protein Blend has 21g of protein per serving, it is naturally flavored with vanilla and stevia (No Erythritol in the Stevia).

The protein blend is made up of pea protein isolate, rice protein and pumpkin seed protein powder.

Let’s talk more about more of the “added” ingredients:

Magnesium Glycinate (400 mg)

Magnesium Glycinate is formed by combining elemental magnesium with the amino acid glycine.

This form of magnesium is highly bioavailable, meaning the magnesium is easily absorbed through your small intestine.

Magnesium Glycinate may Improve sleep efficiency, sleep time, sleep onset latency and early morning awakening in Adults.

We have not tested our product yet, so we can not guarantee this but here’s a double-blind placebo-controlled clinical trial that studied the effects of magnesium supplementation on adults/elderly: Click

Chamomile Flower Powder (400 mg)

Chamomile belongs to a major group of cultivated medicinal plants. It contains a large group of therapeutically interesting and active compound classes. It has sedative properties that have a chance of improving your sleep quality.

Chamomile is similar to another supplement called Apigenin. Which If you follow Dr. Andrew Huberman he takes it as part of his sleep protocol along with the magnesium and theanine. I’d highly suggest checking out his toolkit for sleep and videos on youtube about sleep, highly knowledgeable neuroscientist.

Anyway Apigenin is a flavonoid found in Chamomile.

Chamomile has sedative properties that may improve your sleep quality. Again we have not tested our product yet, so we can not guarantee benefits but here’s a study that said “Chamomile appears to be efficacious and safe for sleep quality”: Click

L-Theanine (200 mg)

L-Theanine is an amino acid found in green and black tea.

L-Theanine is an amino acid analogue of the proteinogenic amino acids L-glutamate and L-glutamine. It is found primarily in particular plant and fungal species.

And for the third damn time we do not have our powder in a damn study! But check out this one out here homie where it talks about how L-Theanine may Improve sleep quality by regulating brain electrochemical activity.

The list doesn’t stop baby! We put a whole host of other things in it to make sure you get the best sleep. I’ll rattle them off real quick!

L-Glycine (1,000 mg)

L-Glycine is another amino acid that is already in magnesium but we wanted to make sure you get a little more! trust me, it’s safe.

L-Glycine may lower body temperature and Increases serotonin which is converted to melatonin (Sleep Foundation: Article)

Ashwagnandha (125 mg)

Ashwagandha is rich in phytochemicals, phytochemicals can be defined, in the strictest sense, as chemicals produced by plants. However, the term is generally used to describe chemicals from plants that may affect health, but are not essential nutrients.

That’s why we make supplements out of them!

Research is limited, but take a look at NIOH’s take on it, click here.

Selenium Glycinate (100 mcg)

May help with Thyroid health (WebMD: Article)

Saw Palmetto (150 mg)

Saw Palmetto may help with Prostate health and not going to the bathroom at night so you can get uninterrupted sleep.

But it’d also be wise to not drink as much fluids an hour before bed and going to the bathroom one more time right before you go to sleep.

Essential Vitamins & Minerals for Sleep

Vitamin B12 (25 mcg)

Vitamin B6 (5 mg)

Vitamin C (100 mg)

Vitamin D (25 mcg)

Zinc Citrate (15 mg)

Iron (5 mg)

Again, the pervious statements have not been evaluated by the FDA. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.

Night Nutrition’s Promise

We’ve tried our best to take all the natural sleep vitamins, minerals and powders all into one protein shake so you can enjoy after some evening exercise (Hence the name “Night” Nutrition)

You can get better sleep and save money on buying all sleep supplements individually (if you already buy them of course or just want an all in one solution).

Because I’ve done the research, I’ve experimented on myself and I wouldn’t give you anything I wouldn’t give to my dad.

Our first product isn’t perfect though, we haven’t had the chance to do an actual test to prove it’s effectiveness but one day plan to do and improve the formula with test results.

But that’s besides the point, the point is that you won’t get good sleep by just taking a supplement. Yes supplements can help & enhance your sleep for sure but without a solid healthy lifestyle, proper sunlight exposure and inadequate nutrition supplements won’t help too much if your leaving an unhealthy lifestyle.

It’s more than just a protein shake; it’s a part of a holistic approach to wellness.

We are going to guarantee is that what it says on the label is in the powder. Test all our batches and make sure you’re getting what it says on the label!
